A Guide To Buying Countertops

Countertop materials come in a variety of colors, textures and prices. The most popular countertops are granite, quartz, marble and stone. Before making your purchase, be sure to ask the salesperson about the warranty and installation process.

Granite is the most popular oak countertops material because it is durable and has a natural look. Granite comes in two types: honed and unpolished.

Honed granite is less expensive but has a rougher surface. Unpolished granite is more expensive but has a smoother surface. There are also several types of quartz countertops: natural, engineered and synthetic. Natural quartz is the cheapest option but may have small cracks that can be visible. Engineered quartz is more expensive but has no small cracks or blemishes. Synthetic quartz is the most expensive option but has the best quality because it is made of synthetic materials.

Marble is another popular countertop material because it is beautiful and affordable. Marble comes in different colors and textures, including semi-polished, polished and rough. Semi-polished marble is less expensive than polished marble but may have small blemishes that can be visible. Polished marble is more expensive than semi-polished one.
